Potential : May increase up to 20 hours / week based on program needs
Position Summary :
The Occupational Therapist will assess and support clients’ physical, developmental, cognitive, and psychosocial functioning. This role includes developing and implementing individualized or group therapy plans, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and providing consultation to ensure the integration of services. The therapist will work closely with clients and stakeholders to promote functional independence and improve quality of life.
Key Responsibilities :
Assess clients' physical capacities, cognitive and psychosocial functions using standardized and non-standardized tools.
Develop, coordinate, and implement individual or group occupational therapy treatment plans.
Determine appropriate therapy techniques, goals, and treatment sequences tailored to client needs.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and treatment coordination.
Provide consultation and updates to clients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
Identify and recommend adaptive equipment as appropriate to support client goals.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and revisions.
Order therapy supplies and equipment as needed.
Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and ongoing training to stay current with industry standards and best practices.
Qualifications :
Licensed Occupational Therapist (active and in good standing).
Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with developmental disabilities or complex physical and cognitive needs.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Familiarity with adaptive equipment and assistive technology is preferred.
