Omnia Healthcare Group is seeking a Technical Support Specialist-Field Services to join their team! As the Technical Support Specialist – Field Services, you will travel to skilled nursing facilities to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues with devices like workstations, laptops, printers, and mobile carts. Responsibilities include performing hardware replacements and upgrades, basic network support, low-voltage cabling tasks, and supporting Cisco switch and Avaya phone connectivity. The position also includes imaging and deploying Windows devices, documenting all work, maintaining accurate inventory, and assisting with remote support. Coordination with onsite staff and infrastructure teams ensures minimal service disruption and efficient project deployment.
Technical Support Specialist-Field Services Duties and Responsibilities :
Travel to Skilled Nursing Facilites locations to troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues involving workstations, laptops, printers, mobile carts, and other devices.
Perform hardware replacements, upgrades, and peripheral installations.
Provide basic network support including patching, switch port tracing, and Wi-Fi signal verification.
Support Cisco switch connectivity and basic port-level troubleshooting.
Deploy and test Avaya IP phones and address endpoint-level voice issues.
Perform basic low-voltage wiring tasks :
Terminate and repair RJ45 (Ethernet) and RJ11 (voice) cabling.
Diagnose and repair coaxial connections where applicable.
Replace wall plates, jacks, or patch panel terminations as needed.
Document all site work, configurations, and repairs accurately in the ticketing and asset management systems.
Prepare and image Windows devices using MDT or SCCM for deployment to facilities.
Perform diagnostics and repairs on returned or faulty hardware.
Maintain an accurate inventory of spare parts, deployment-ready systems, and field tools.
Assist with remote ticket resolution and Tier 1–2 support tasks.
Coordinate with network and infrastructure teams for escalations or project deployments.
Coordinate with onsite staff to schedule minimal-disruption service visits.
Repair and refurbish returned equipment to return to service or process for disposal.
Perform all other duties, as assigned.
Technical Support Specialist-Field Services Qualifications and Skills :
Demonstrate proficient computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications. Microsoft Office Suite : MS Word, MS Access, MS Excel, E-mail, Outlook, Internet Explorer.
Familiar with Cisco networking gear (e.g., basic switch access, port testing).
Basic understanding of Avaya IP phones and VOIP hardware troubleshooting.
Skilled in terminating and repairing RJ45 / RJ11 wiring; coaxial repair is a strong plus.
Solid knowledge of TCP / IP, DHCP, and general network troubleshooting.
Excellent communication and time management skills; able to operate independently on-site.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Understanding of HIPAA compliance and clinical IT practices, preferred.
Technical Support Specialist-Field Services Education and Experience :
2+ years in IT hardware support or field service roles.
Prior experience working in healthcare or long-term care facilities.
Familiarity with HIPAA standards and secure handling of IT equipment in healthcare settings.
Hands-on experience with desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral hardware, required.
Experience supporting IT in healthcare, SNF, or other long-term care settings, preferred.
Experience using IT ticketing systems (e.g., Freshservice, Zendesk, or ServiceNow).
Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900), or MD-102, preferred.
Familiarity with ITSM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Freshservice, Zendesk) preferred.
Experience with imaging tools such as MDT, SCCM, or Windows Autopilot, preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements :
Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, ability to distinguish smells and temperatures, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
Ability to lift and transport equipment up to 50 lbs and navigate clinical environments.
Ability to travel at least 60% of the time, if needed.
