About The Position

Job Title : Pharmacy Technician

Profession : Pharmacy Tech

Shift : 3x8.5 hours

Hours per Shift : 8.5

Experience : Minimum of one year preferred

License : Certified Pharmacy Technician or Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing

Certifications : Pharmacy Technician certification through PTCB required

Must-Have : Minimum of one year pharmacy experience preferred

Description :

The Pharmacy Technician, under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist, is responsible for the preparation, delivery, and retrieval of medications used throughout the institution.

He / she is responsible for the billing of certain pharmacy charges to the patient and the control of outdated medications.

He / she assists in the orientation process of new personnel and may participate in health center and department committees.

Key Responsibilities and Duties :

Restock medication stations accurately.

Pull medications using the specified software accurately.

Label medications correctly, including all safety labels.

Have new orders ready for delivery promptly.

Use aseptic technique to compound sterile products.

Complete monthly touchplates and annual transfer tests.

Enter charges and credits into the computer system accurately.

Perform checks on express charts.

Respond to temperature alarms, take appropriate action, and document actions taken.
