Requirements (Skills)

Technical Skills

  • Strong experience managing IT infrastructure, network, and security projects
  • Hands-on exposure to “Keep the Lights On” initiatives (patching, lifecycle management, certifications)
  • Experience leading Infrastructure-as-Code efforts (preferably Terraform)
  • Proficiency in Waterfall and Agile project methodologies
  • Skilled in project tracking and reporting using PM tools (MS Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, GitHub)
  • Ability to coordinate internal teams, external vendors, and cross-functional partners
  • Competency in project budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation
  • Strong background in risk / issue identification, mitigation, and lifecycle tracking
  • Ability to drive process improvements and support PMO methodology refinement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for executive-level updates
  • Proven track record of managing multi-division collaboration efforts

Soft Skills

  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to coach junior project managers
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to lead change management and conflict resolution
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and prioritization abilities
  • Adaptability to hybrid work environments (remote + onsite)

    • Minimum Experience Requirements

  • 9+ years managing multiple IT / business projects (degree substitutions allowed)
  • 2+ years in a lead role working with cross-division stakeholders
  • Required tool experience :
  • MS Project (2+ years)
  • Azure DevOps (1+ year)
  • Jira (1+ year)
  • GitHub (1+ year)

    • Desired Skills

  • Experience with PPM platforms
  • Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks and best practices
  • Networking and infrastructure fundamentals
  • Understanding of ITIL and cloud technologies (Azure / AWS)

    • Responsibilities

    Project & Program Management

  • Create project charters, schedules, work plans, and execution roadmaps
  • Define project scope, deliverables, and timelines using Agile and Waterfall methods
  • Track progress and ensure projects remain within approved baselines
  • Manage vendor coordination and internal resource alignment
  • Maintain detailed project documentation and reporting

    • Team Leadership

  • Lead project teams and support / mentor junior project managers
  • Foster a collaborative and productive environment across PMO and technical teams
  • Ensure clarity on roles, responsibilities, and delivery expectations
  • Oversee change management efforts and manage resolution of team conflicts

    • Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with project sponsors and executives
  • Deliver consistent updates on progress, risks, issues, and decisions needed
  • Align project outcomes with broader business goals

    • Risk, Issue, Budget & Resource Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and manage risks and issues with mitigation strategies
  • Monitor performance metrics and adjust plans as needed
  • Develop and oversee project budgets
  • Manage demand, allocate resources, and maintain capacity plans

    • Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Lead organizational change activities to ensure adoption and operational readiness
  • Support PMO improvement efforts and contribute to evolving methodologies
  • Stay current with industry trends to improve project delivery standards

  • Participate in onsite work at least one day per week (St. Paul, MN)
  • Attend required in-person interviews when scheduled

    Required

  • PMP or PgMP
  • CSM or SAFe Agile certification

  • CompTIA Security+
  • CCNP (Cisco)
  • PCNSE (Palo Alto) or CISSP
  • Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900)
