Parks Maintenance Attendant

This position is mainly responsible for picking up litter in the parks on foot. A variety of maintenance tasks including but not limited to cleaning bathrooms, addressing vandalism, and managing vegetation on a routine basis. Union Affiliation : Non-Union Pay Grade : $19.15 Hourly Remote Tier 1 : Zero (0) days remote / week. This is a part time, 16 hour / week position. The schedule for this position is Monday / Tuesday.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist in the collection of refuse in the park system;
• Assist in the maintenance of turf care to include, mowing, trimming, seeding, aerating;
• Clean restrooms regularly. This includes sweeping / mopping, restocking supplies, wiping down all surfaces including all sinks, urinals, and toilets.
• Assist in the lay out, painting and maintenance of all athletic fields;
• Assist in removing graffiti and addressing vandalism in the parks;
• Assist in maintaining accurate records of work completed;
• Assist in the maintenance of playgrounds;
• Assist with removal of encampments in accordance with Outreach and Removal Policies set forth by the City of Burlington.
• Be a park advocate, which includes providing excellent customer feedback, to notifying park supervisors if undesirable activity, damage, excessive littering etc. exists within a park;
• High level of customer service in a public atmosphere;
• Able to work efficiently on an independent basis;
• Assist in special events;
• Support volunteer services in the parks;
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings;
• Assist in other job tasks as necessary.
