Behavior Technician PRN for Behavior Improvement Center (BIC)
Role Responsibilities
The behavior technician in the Behavior Improvement Center (BIC) program works as part of a treatment team and reports to the BIC Senior Manager. The behavior technician is also supervised by the Assistant Team Supervisor. Work schedule is typically M-F from 1 : 00pm to 5 : 00pm as needed. However, there might be an additional opportunity to work Monday mornings from 9 : 45am to 12 : 00pm as needed. The Behavior Technician provides direct one on one and small group training using ABA procedures for individuals with a diagnosis of autism and / or an intellectual developmental disability (IDD) who display aggressive, disruptive, non-compliant, and / or self-abusive behavior. The behavior technician provides skill acquisition pertaining to self-help skills, academic skills, social skills, communication skills, vocational skills, and basic attending skills with the clients. The behavior technician conducts direct observations, collects data, and summarizes data, organizes treatment rooms, documents training progress, and implements SAMA and physical prompts. Training occurs during intense one on one and group settings, requiring high levels of energy and enthusiasm. The behavior technician might assist BCBA’s in conducting sessions. The behavior technician receives clinical supervision from the team supervisor and the behavior analysts. The behavior technician in the BIC program also assists in entering data into the billing system. The behavior technician also drives and assists in transporting clients to and from the clinic.
