The North Carolina Association of County Commissioners (NCACC) is seeking a Government Relations Manager tomonitor and engage with state legislative, state executive branch, and federal issues to advance policy goals adopted by the membership and safeguard county interests. This role communicatestimelyand relevant information to members and performs related duties as assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the Director of Advocacy and Policy, with a strong understanding of state statutes and regulationsrequired.
The hiring range for this position is $90,000 - $130,000 and will be commensurate with experience.

Education / Experience :
Five years of professional experience in lobbying, governmental relations, communications, or public relations. Master’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, or a related field, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities :
Thorough knowledge of the philosophy, principles and practices of public policy administration such as the accepted methods and practices of administration and policy implementation; ability to understand state statutes and other laws and regulations; general knowledge of governmental organization and administration; ability to present ideas effectively orally and in written form; ability to conduct evaluations and prepare related reports and recommendations; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Association and county officials, associates, legislators, local government administration staff, and state agency personnel.
Certificates and Licenses :
Valid Driver’s License. Registration as a North Carolina Lobbyist
