Experience in corrections medical care and nursing procedures. Description : Provide nursing care in a correctional facility. Make rounds and evaluate care needed and rendered. Develop care plans and educate individuals on healthcare principles. Administer medications, including narcotics. Deliver all direct nursing care as needed. Perform specialized procedures such as IV therapy, chemotherapy, and wound care. Administer oxygen therapy, dialysis, blood transfusions, and CPR. Conduct tube feeding, catheterization, suctioning, and phlebotomy duties. Organize and oversee emergency response teams. Direct healthcare staff assigned to the area. Act as a lead worker in charge during shifts. Assist physicians in diagnostic health evaluations. Perform clerical tasks, including documenting medications and treatments. Complete required reports and maintain accurate inventory of controlled medications and equipment. Arrange appointments and medical examinations. Coordinate new and refilled prescriptions ordered by physicians. Perform administrative tasks and liaise with other personnel. Conduct and attend meetings. Serve as an instructor when needed. Participate as a member or leader in problem-solving teams or groups.
