Position Overview :
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our growing Spine & Orthopaedic practice. The ideal candidate will support our legal and administrative operations by managing medical-legal cases, preparing documentation, coordinating with attorneys, and ensuring compliance with healthcare and legal standards. This role requires exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive medical and legal information with professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities :
- Act as the primary liaison between physicians, paralegals, attorneys, patients, and insurance representatives.
- Obtain, organize, and summarize medical records and reports for case preparation and legal review.
- Track deadlines for subpoenas, depositions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
- Review and manage attorney and provider requests for depositions, IMEs, trials, and narrative reports.
- Ensuring timely processing of narrative report requests, including record preparation, appointment scheduling / rescheduling, and obtaining necessary imaging reports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring proper documentation of all communications and requests.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, attorneys, and external partners by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring timely follow-through.
- Work with physicians, physician assistants, and provider staff to schedule video depositions and in-person trials as needed.
- Act as a legal liaison to assist in providing the highest level of quality care and follow-through, consistently monitoring all requests and maintaining professionalism.
- Perform administrative tasks and support management as needed to meet departmental goals.
Qualifications :
Education : Associates or Bachelors degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.Certification : Paralegal certification preferred (e.g., NALA, NFPA, or equivalent).Experience : 2+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in personal injury, medical malpractice, or healthcare law.Technical Skills : Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, case management software, and medical record systems (e.g., EMR / EHR).Knowledge : Familiarity with medical terminology, personal injury and workers compensation procedures, and healthcare documentation standards.Core Competencies :
