About The Position

Description :
The Radiologic Technologist must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit.
The individual must possess knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span.
They must have the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the information needed to identify each patient’s needs.
They are responsible for providing the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
Employees will work with patients and employees of all cultural and religious backgrounds.
The employee performs within the prescribed limits of the Ethics and Compliance Program.
They are responsible for detecting, observing, and reporting compliance variances to their immediate supervisor.
All employees must adhere to the Mission, Vision, and Key Values of the organization.
Essential functions include providing radiographic or sonographic examinations of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation.
The employee must exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures, applying principles of radiation protection.
They must perform diagnostic medical radiography within the department and other areas as required.
Maintaining patient records and files is also a key responsibility.
They are expected to assume responsibility for the departmental quality assurance program.
Pursuing continuing education is essential.
The employee must transfer patients to and from radiology when needed.
In the absence of a supervisor, they will assume departmental responsibilities.
The employee must rotate shifts as required and perform ancillary duties as requested by the supervisor.
They should assist in maintaining the general hygiene of the department and themselves.
Working well in stressful situations is crucial.
Employees must be willing to be on call and report to work within 20 minutes.
They must be willing to learn other imaging modalities as needed.
Maintaining competency in ancillary modalities is required.
The employee should be able and willing to perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities also include care of equipment and record maintenance in the CT / Interventional area.
They will assist with invasive procedures and must be knowledgeable about these procedures.
Consultation with referring physicians is expected, striving towards the goal of venipuncture.
Following standard precautions procedures is critical.
Altering routine protocols to provide quality care to pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients is required.
Changing contrast levels per age group is also part of the responsibilities.
The employee must set up and run the automatic injector and be familiar with contraindications of contrast.
Competence in tele-radiology transmission and sterile technique is essential.
They will actively assist in supply inventory and ordering, as well as daily and weekly quality control.
Attending department meetings, in-services, and disaster drills is a secondary function.
