Unit Description : Provides professional nursing care to patients in varying state of health and illness by assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing plan of care. Works closely with oncology surgeons monitoring complex patients in pre and post op setting. Patient care includes pre-surgical teaches, monitoring patients post op and helping to set up post op wound and drain care, working with physician and oncology team to schedule appropriate follow up scans and appointments, and triaging phone calls with symptom management. Assists with in-clinic procedures weekly. The Staff Nurse II functions as an essential member of nursing and multidisciplinary teams, providing direct patient care, instruction, and preparation for continuing care during and following care transitions.
EXPERIENCE :
Greater than one year of oncology or surgical experience preferred.
