Operational Risk Analyst
Goldman Sachs is a leading global financial institution that delivers a broad range of financial services to a large and diversified client base. The Risk division identifies, monitors, assesses, and manages financial and non-financial risks in support of the firm's appetite and strategic plan. The Operational Risk Department at Goldman Sachs is an independent risk management function responsible for developing and implementing a standardized framework to identify, measure, and monitor operational risk across the firm.
Key Responsibilities :
- Understand and apply the firm's issue management governance, including applicable policies, frameworks and standards
- Engage with stakeholders across the firm on effective review and challenge of enterprise-wide issues, including root causes analysis, remediation and lessons learned
- Analyze firmwide issues for macro themes, patterns, clustering and emerging risks
- Facilitate enterprise risk management framework and data collection and oversee and assess key risk processes related to controls, implementation of remediation plans, significant strategic growth initiatives, among others
- Develop risk and control assessment capabilities and operationalize processes to support them throughout the firm
Experience / skills required :
Bachelor's degree1-2 yrs in the Financial Services / Banking industry or similar role with transferable skillsStrong academic record with Bachelor's degree, equivalent or above in Finance, Mathematics or a related quantitative / analytical discipline preferredStrong understanding of financial and non-financial risk disciplinesExceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsStrong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracyProven problem-solving and a process and control-oriented mindsetHigh proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint required. Programming experience (e.g. Python, SQL etc.) in workflow automation, data management, and / or data visualization (Tableau, Qlikview) is preferredDesire and ability to collaborate with people from different departments and levels of seniorityDesire and ability to communicate complex information and concepts in layperson terms directly
