American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a night shift position requiring adult emergency experience, current BLS / ACLS / NIHSS / CPI certifications, and EKG competency.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 30-bed Emergency Department with 14 Fast Track beds and additional hallway beds as neededPatient population includes all ages and medical complaints except traumaAverage daily census is 120-130 patientsNurse-to-patient ratio typically 1 : 4Night shift position with 12-hour shiftsEvery other weekend and major holiday shifts requiredMust be able to float as needed based on staffingInterdisciplinary team includes MDs, ACPs, PCTs, Charge RN, RRT, phlebotomists, ED techs, and secretariesNavy blue, white, or any combination of these color scrubs requiredDuties include comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of emergency patient careResponsibilities include administering medications, coordinating patient care, and acting as a patient safety advocateWork collaboratively within an interprofessional team focused on high-quality patient outcomesMust manage physical and emotional demands of the emergency care settingMajor holidays and every other weekend are required shiftsEPIC EHR experience is preferred but not requiredNo trauma cases are seen in this Emergency DepartmentFirst-time travelers are not accepted for this role\n \n Requirements\n
Active VA RN license or compact RN license requiredMinimum one year of adult Emergency Department RN experience requiredExperience with conscious sedation requiredCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI / De-escalation trainingMust pass EKG exam at orientation (study guide provided); two attempts allowedNo local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be consideredNo travel pairs or teams accepted\n Benefits\n
