Job descriptionWork in a 30-bed Emergency Department with 14 Fast Track beds and additional hallway beds as needed Patient population includes all ages and medical complaints except trauma Average daily census is 120-130 patients Nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1 : 4 Night shift position with 12-hour shifts Every other weekend and major holiday shifts required Must be able to float as needed based on staffing Interdisciplinary team includes MDs, ACPs, PCTs, Charge RN, RRT, phlebotomists, ED techs, and secretaries Navy blue, white, or any combination of these color scrubs required Duties include comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of emergency patient care Responsibilities include administering medications, coordinating patient care, and acting as a patient safety advocate Work collaboratively within an interprofessional team focused on high-quality patient outcomes Must manage physical and emotional demands of the emergency care setting Major holidays and every other weekend are required shifts EPIC EHR experience is preferred but not required No trauma cases are seen in this Emergency Department First-time travelers are not accepted for this role Active VA RN license or compact RN license required Minimum one year of adult Emergency Department RN experience required Experience with conscious sedation required Certifications required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI / De-escalation training Must pass EKG exam at orientation (study guide provided); two attempts allowed No local candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered No travel pairs or teams accepted High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts
