We are currently seeking a dedicated professional to fill the Licensed Practical Nurse position. To provide support and assist Philadelphia County psychiatrists in coordinating the behavioral and physical health care needs of program participants. Assist psychiatrists with : insurance prior authorization process from completing the forms to notifying the participant when insurance approves; developing and implementing a system to ensure participants have prescribed laboratory tests including how to ensure psychiatrist receives and reviews the results; assist in the Clozaril clinic and work with other nurses in the clinic to facilitate an efficient flow of information from and to the psychiatrists; special projects to improve efficiency in psychiatric services. Network with the community to address the healthcare needs of participants and provide psychiatric nursing services in accordance with physician orders and standard nursing practices. Function as a consultant and provide education to participants, non-medical team members, and the community.
