Network Engineer – Space Programs

Program Overview
Cybersecurity, Agile, and systems engineers design and sustain cloud infrastructure for spacecraft command and control. Infrastructure as a Service, Antenna as a Service, Data as a Service, and an Admin Wide Area Network are provided to support advanced space missions.
About The Role
As a Network Engineer, you will support a DoD / IC program that involves design, development, testing, and deployment of complex systems in an Agile environment. You will collaborate across groups to define cloud networking requirements and contribute to mission success.
What You'll Do
- Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, reviews) to plan work for future sprints.
- Collaborate with teams to understand cloud networking requirements, develop and document Wide Area Networks (WANs) and Local Area Networks (LANs).
- Provide guidance to Tier teams on identification, isolation, and troubleshooting of network anomalies.
- Track network system build-out status, specify and configure firewalls, switches, routers, and support other engineering tasks.
- Design and implement automation via scripting to deploy cloud network infrastructure and improve operational efficiencies.
- Create scalable, highly available network architectures for new customer systems and solutions that meet defined requirements.
- Coordinate with tenants to understand and document incident details, assign tickets, and track through completion using a ticketing tool.
- Use state-of-the-art monitoring tools to gather insights and act upon results.
- Develop network designs, implementation plans, operational documentation, and continuous improvements of cloud network services.
- Evaluate and recommend potential cloud networking solutions for inclusion in customer offerings, and participate in procurement of network devices.
Qualifications
Minimum Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS / SCI; must maintain clearance.Associates degree in Engineering or Computer Technology with 7+ years of experience; OR Bachelor's with 5+ years; OR Master's with 3+ years; 4 years of experience may substitute a bachelor's degree.Meeting DoD 8140 foundational requirements for a Network Operations Specialist at intermediate proficiency or higher.Experience supporting, designing, building, and maintaining networks in classified environments.Proficient with VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, switches, routers (Cisco, Arista, Brocade, Juniper, Palo Alto, etc.) and network management tools.Ensuring network devices are secure and software is current per DoD policies.Strong knowledge of IP addressing and subnetting.1–2 years of experience maintaining DoD encryption / COMSEC equipment.Experience supporting software and / or network operations with a solid understanding of networking fundamentals.Desired Qualifications
Effective communication with customers and technical staff.Experience working with UNIX / Linux systems in a network environment.Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.Detail-oriented, multitable, capable of minimal supervision.Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with DoD customer and user organizations.Benefits

Target Salary Range
$104,000 – $166,000, based on experience, education, and geographic location.
