Travel Nurse Job Details

Location : Asheville, NC 28801 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)

Estimated Weekly Pay : $1,570 - $1,680

Assignment Length : 13-week travel nursing contract

Start Date : December 15, 2025

End Date : March 16, 2026

Shift : 12-hour nights (6 : 45 PM – 7 : 15 AM)

Hours per Week : 36

Uniform : Navy blue or white scrubs (navy pants / white tops acceptable)

Self-scheduling available

PICU RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – North Carolina or compact state

Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification

Minimum 1 year of recent PICU nursing experience

Experience with Cerner electronic health records preferred

Ability to float to Pediatrics and NICU as needed

PICU Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in a 9-bed PICU

Maintain optimal nurse-to-patient ratios : 1 RN to 1-2 patients in PICU, 1 RN to 2-3 patients in stepdown

Perform and assist with clinical procedures : IV starts, catheterizations, lumbar puncture holds, central line dressing changes, hemodynamic monitoring, trach care, tube feeding and placement, ICP monitoring, ventilator management

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including unit secretaries and tech support

Follow clinical policies and guidelines specific to the unit

Deliver exceptional patient and family-centered care in a supportive and high-quality pediatric care environment
