Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY : The Certified Nursing Assistant role focuses on providing essential care and support to individuals within a group living environment. This position will work closely with individuals and their families to ensure their well-being and maintain their quality of life. Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, monitoring health conditions, and promoting a safe and nurturing environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assist individuals with bathing, dressing, and groomingHelp maintain personal hygiene and comfortMonitor prescribed medications according to the care planMonitor medication schedules and document any changesDocument assessment and align goals with the Person-Centered Treatment Plan within the EHR (Electronic Health Record) systemAdhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentialityAssist individuals with transferring in and out of bed or chairsEnsure safe movement within the homePrepare meals based on dietary requirementsEncourage proper nutrition and hydrationRegularly check vital signs (such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature)Report any significant changes promptlyEngage in conversations and provide emotional comfortFoster a positive and supportive environmentPerform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), crisis intervention and medication administration using agency-trained protocolsMaintain current state-mandated training and certificationsHousekeeping duties, including laundry, tidying up, and organizingEnsure a clean and safe living spaceQUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
High school diploma or GED requiredCompletion of a certified nursing assistant training program and a valid CNA license certification requiredAt least one year of experience as a certified nursing assistant preferredAbility to adapt to various home environmentsEffective communication with individuals and their familiesAbility to work evening, weekend and holiday hours according to the team model and an on-call rotation will be required as necessaryNon-profit human service experience highly preferredDemonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a teamAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing prioritiesDemonstrated strong attention to detailDemonstrated strong time management and organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actionsMust be able to perform CPR and crisis intervention using agency-trained protocolsMust possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communicationBasic experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Outlook preferredMust possess a current, valid driver's license in state of residence, have a minimum of two (2) years of driving experience within the United States, and have an acceptable driving recordEqual Opportunity Employer
