The Impact and Responsibilities: Impact: This role plays a critical part in maintaining the relevance and credibility of our ratings in the municipal market. Your work directly supports capital market transparency, informs investor decision‑making, and contributes to the financial stability of essential public infrastructure. As a Rating Analyst, you help ensure that communities across the country can access affordable financing for vital water and sewer services. Responsibilities: Lead credit analysis initiatives to deliver on credit analysis excellence. Conduct in‑depth research to support comprehensive research and prepare detailed documents and presentations for rating committees. Perform financial statement analysis to fulfill analytical rigor and demonstrate a solid understanding of ratings criteria. Attend rating committee meetings alongside senior analysts as assigned. Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of data for special projects. Collaborate with analysts to publish periodic thought‑leadership articles. Success in this role requires actively participates and contributes towards team goals. Excel in managing multiple priorities in a deadline‑driven environment with strong attention to detail, demonstrating Prioritizes tasks based on their importance and urgency, first focusing on high-priority/high-impact tasks. All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week. Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates): S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is USD $63,000 - $84,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications. What We're Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 2+ years of extensive experience in public finance, municipal analysis, or relevant analytical work. Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, government/public policy, or a related field. Strong foundation in credit analysis methodologies and techniques Proven experience with in‑depth research capabilities and analytical frameworks Advanced skills in financial statement analysis including cash flow modeling and credit assessment Demonstrated interest in government operations and utilities. High proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with clients, reflecting Interprets or clarifies technical information to aid understanding.
