We are looking for a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Santa Barbara, California. Responsibilities :
- Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Perform sales tax calculations and filings in accordance with local and state requirements.
- Create and maintain journal entries to support accurate financial reporting.
- Manage and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure financial statements are precise.
- Conduct bank reconciliations to verify account balances and resolve discrepancies.
- Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, including timely payments and collections.
- Utilize Paychex and other payroll systems to manage employee compensation records.
- Assist in preparing financial statements and reports for management review.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in accounting roles.
- Proficiency in corporate tax preparation and sales tax compliance.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger management and journal entries.
- Experience with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Skilled in bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.
- Familiarity with Paychex and other payroll systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
