Must-Have :

Must have 1 year of experience.

Must be a good team player.

Description :

The unit has a total of 24 beds.

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4.

Common diagnoses include Heart Failure, COPD, Sepsis, AFIB, Pneumonia, Stroke, detox, and suicidal holds.

No titration of drips is required for RNs.

Common medications include Diltiazem, Heparin, Amiodarone, and Lidocaine with set drop rates.

There is a charge nurse on each shift who does not take patients.

An administrator is on site 24 / 7.

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) work on the unit with a ratio of 1 : 8 and there will be 3 CNAs if the unit is at full capacity.

Respiratory equipment includes CPAP and BiPAP; patients on BiPAP for more than 4 hours will be transferred to ICU.

Monitor technicians are present on the unit.

RNs are required to sign off on their strips using SpaceLabs.

Shifts are scheduled by the unit scheduler and can be grouped or blocked.

Weekend shifts are required as needed, typically every other.

Vacancies on holidays may need to be filled.

Floating may occur to a medical-surgical unit or other locations as necessary.

The dress code is professional attire in any clean color.

The facility utilizes a team nursing model.

If the unit is full, the charge nurse will support 7 RNs on the floor.

Two of those RNs will act as leads to assist with patient care and medication administration.

Experienced travelers may work as leads.

There is a radius rule of 50 miles for applicants.
