Smithers Engineering is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in Flowood, MS. As a Civil Engineer with Smithers, you will be instrumental in contributing to a wide range of projects spanning from site development to infrastructure design. Responsibilities :

Site Layout : Develop comprehensive site layout plans that optimize land use while adhering to project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Grading : Utilize your expertise in grading to ensure proper land shaping and contouring for optimal drainage, aesthetics, and functionality.

Storm Water Design : Design effective storm water management systems to mitigate runoff and erosion, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Utility Layout and Design : Plan and design utility infrastructure, including water supply, sewer, and drainage systems, with a focus on efficiency, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.

Permitting : Navigate the permitting process effectively, securing necessary approvals and ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies.

Project Management : Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, surveyors, and contractors, to ensure seamless project delivery from conception to completion.

Quality Assurance : Conduct thorough inspections and quality checks to uphold the highest standards of engineering excellence and safety.

Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3-15 years of relevant experience in civil engineering.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software.
• Strong understanding of local, state, and federal regulations related to land development and infrastructure.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Experience in hydraulic modeling and analysis is a plus.
