Job descriptionFocused on growing and strengthening our hematology / oncology program, and we Äôre looking for a leader who can help take it to the next level. Cancer center is an affiliate of the Duke Cancer Network, giving us access to advanced research, clinical trials, and nationally recognized best practices. Diagnose and treat a wide range of cancer and blood disorders while providing exceptional care. Lead and mentor a growing team of physicians, APPs, and oncology nurses Collaborate with hospital leadership and Duke Cancer Network experts Improve or enhance clinic workflows and ensure high-quality, evidence-based care Develop and launch new treatment services or community outreach initiatives in partnership with system leadership. Engage in strategic planning to expand the oncology service line Outpatient role Standard office hours (Mon-Fri / 8am-5pm) Protected administrative time (8+ hours per week) Practice Call Schedule : Shared call schedule, 1 : 4 rotation for patient care needs through telephone calls Äì also supported by after-hours nurse triage. Support Staff : The physician will have a team consisting of their own clinic support staff, an APP, and a robust specialized oncology nursing team. 4 Physicians and 3 APPs EMR : Cerner Average Patient Volume : 15-20 patients per day Patient Census : Adult patients with a wide range of cancers and hematologic disorders, from early-stage to advanced. 40% Oncology and 60% Hematology Visit types : Initial cancer diagnosis, treatment planning, chemotherapy follow-ups, and management of hematologic conditions like anemia and clotting disorders. Procedures : Bone marrow biopsies, port insertions, etc. Clinic / Facility : 10-chair infusion center, onsite lab and pharmacy, two additional infusion centers on campus (1 general / 1 rheumatology) Imaging / Diagnostics : PET scanning, 64-slice CT, 3-D mammography, breast MRI, high- Tumor Boards : Bi-weekly for breast, PCC, GI, and ENT Surgical Referrals : Includes breast, colorectal, and vascular; Bone marrow transplants referred to Charleston (MUSC or Roper St Francis) ACGME Accredited : Medical students, CMC Family Medicine Residency, transitional year, Sports Medicine Fellowship program Research & Trials : Currently no active clinical trials; aligned with Duke for access to approximately 450 protocols Currently undergoing submission to become accredited by The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. Sign-on Bonus : $50k+ sign-on bonus to assist with the transition. Competitive Compensation : Guaranteed base salary (typically MGMA median) + WRVU bonuses Base Compensation : 700k+ (flexible / negotiable) + Bonus Potential Comprehensive Benefits : Health, dental, & vision; supplemental insurance options (short / long-term disability, accidental, cancer, life); retirement plans with employer match. Student Loan Repayment : Eligible for loan repayment assistance through the PSLF program, helping to manage and reduce student debt.
