Product Sales Specialist
This position is responsible for training and developing product sales specialists and ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience by receiving exceptional customer service and product information.
Minimum eligibility requirements include a high school diploma or GED and one year of customer service / sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. Excellent communication skills (verbal & written) and the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment are also required.
Essential functions include acting and working in a manner consistent with the company's core values, demonstrating a thorough understanding and compliance with the company's safe lifting practices standard operating procedures, and driving and teaching the company philosophy around the basic P's of retail. The basic P's of retail include people, position, product, presentation, price, promotion, and purchasing. The role also involves providing direction to all product sales specialists to ensure a highly attentive and accurate level of customer service, completing all product specialist certification courses, and demonstrating a thorough understanding of merchandise and installation.
Additional responsibilities include ensuring the overall merchandising, pricing, and organization of the department, communicating standard operating procedure direction and changes to all associates in a timely manner, completing the industrial truck (forklift) proficiency testing and certification, communicating inventory needs to management, directing and assisting the processing of merchandise to the showroom floor, validating all product placement and pricing within the department, greeting every customer in a helpful and courteous manner, assisting customers with product questions and selections, processing customers at check-out using the point of sale (POS) system, processing customer refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines, presenting 'how-to' classes to customers, following established cash, check, and charge card acceptance procedures, answering the telephone according to accepted guidelines, stocking and tagging merchandise displays as required, creating price tags and merchandise signs.
The employee is frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles, with a noise level typically moderate to noisy. Physical work includes the ability to exert 30 60 pounds of force occasionally, and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The employee is often required to use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Store hours are Monday - Friday 7 : 00 AM - 8 : 00 PM, Saturday 8 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM, and Sunday 10 : 00 AM - 6 : 00 PM. Pickup hours are Monday - Friday 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM, Saturday 8 : 00 AM - 7 : 00 PM, and Sunday 10 : 00 AM - 6 : 00 PM.
