Position Highlights

Spencer Hospital is a rural hospitallocated in northwest Iowa employing over 500 employees. Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers if accepted are exclusively with Spencer Hospital.

Summary :

• Responsible for the daily delivery of radiation treatments to cancer patients CT simulation and initial set-up of new treatment areas and for providing emotional and educational support for radiation oncology patients and their families
• Assists physics staff to ensure treatment records and dosimetric procedures are completed accurately. Works directly with physician at the machine and with simulation
• Performs ionizing radiation treatments schedules patients for treatment to ensure a smooth department flow and quality care to patients
• Performs radiographic and CT procedures producing images for the interpretation by; or at least request of a licensed practitioner
• Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics
• Provides appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure
