Patient Service Representative

A respected New York healthcare organization is seeking a

• Patient Service Representative (PSR)
• for a
• full-time, temp-to-perm
• position within its Primary Care department. This role is ideal for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service.

The PSR serves as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a smooth and welcoming front desk experience. Responsibilities include patient registration, insurance verification, appointment scheduling, and supporting daily clinic operations.

• Patient Service Representative Key Responsibilities :
• Front Desk & Patient Interaction :
• Greet and check in patients warmly and professionally
• Schedule and confirm appointments accurately
• Collect co-payments and maintain payment records in the EMR system
• Answer incoming calls, route inquiries, and assist patients as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception and waiting area
• Administrative & Insurance Duties :
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations
• Register new patients and update electronic health records (EHR)
• Conduct appointment reminder and follow-up calls
• Review and update patient demographics and insurance information
• Assist with referral coordination and other clerical support tasks
• Patient Service Representative Qualifications :
• Education :
• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Experience :
• 12 years in a medical office, healthcare, or related administrative role Required
• Preferred Skills :
• Experience with
• E-Clinical Works (eCW)
• Spanish-speaking
• proficiency
• Technical Skills :
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EMR systems
• Soft Skills :
• Strong communication, organization, and customer service abilities
