Master Planner
The Master Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that align with customer demand while effectively balancing available resources and inventory levels. Key responsibilities include creating and managing the master production schedule, coordinating closely with cross-functional teams such as Sales, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, and ensuring the availability of raw materials to support production goals.
This role involves the use of ERP / MRP systems to analyze data, monitor performance, and drive informed decision-making. The Master Planner also supports purchasing activities and acts as a key liaison for customers, ensuring clear communication and consistently high service levels.
Success in this role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on operational efficiency, supplier collaboration, on-time delivery, and continuous process improvement.
Essential Job Duties
- Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on customer demand, forecasts, sales orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Analyze supply and demand to identify potential risks, shortages, or overages and take corrective actions.
- Drive the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process and support capacity and materials planning.
- Create and manage purchase orders for raw materials, components, and indirect materials required to support the production schedule.
- Monitor supplier performance, delivery timelines, and inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve delivery issues, improve lead times, and reduce costs.
- Maintain accurate procurement data within the ERP system, including pricing, lead times, and order quantities.
- Function as a liaison between production, planning, and customers to provide updates on order status, delivery schedules, and potential delays.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding product availability, lead times, and delivery timelines.
- Support customer service and account management teams by ensuring that production schedules meet customer expectations and service level agreements.
- Participate in meetings with key customers or sales representatives to align on delivery plans and resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Work closely with Operations, Sales, Engineering, Inventory Control, and Finance to ensure alignment on planning and scheduling.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as schedule adherence, on-time delivery, inventory turns, and supplier performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline planning, procurement, and communication processes.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.3+ years of experience in production planning, materials management, purchasing, or supply chain roles.Office Environment
