Medical Assistant Senior

The York ENT is looking for a new Medical Assistant Senior to join their fast-growing office. This position is fast paced; therefore, multitasking is essential.

Schedule : Monday Thursday from 8 : 00 a.m. 4 : 30 p.m., Fridays are from 7 : 30 a.m. 4 : 00 p.m., no weekends or holidays!

The salary range for this position is $18.12 - $27.86 based on experience.

The Medical Assistant will assist physicians with various aspects of patient care (including clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks) ensuring patient satisfaction.

Responsibilities :

• Accompany patients to exam / procedure room.
• Assist patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.
• Collect patient information / history, taking vitals, performing screenings per provider guidelines.
• Relay instructions to patients / families.
• Obtain lab / x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.
• Complete forms / requisitions as needed.
• Prepare and managing charts to ensure information completed and filed appropriately.
• Schedule appointments.
• Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics.
• Prepare and managing patient rooms, set up instruments and equipment according to department protocol.
• Clean exam / procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control.
• Manage inventory of supplies; restocking exam / procedure rooms.
• Check schedules and organizing patient flow.
• Answering calls and providing pertinent information including patient education as directed.
• Perform clinic procedures according to policy and procedure.
• Assist physicians with procedures.
• Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e., OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
• Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data.
• Comply with all UPMC Health System policies and procedures.
• Under the direction and supervision of a physician, administer injectable medication and vaccines when appropriate.
• Other front office responsibilities, as required.
• Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies / behaviors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
