Opportunity : Perfusionist - Perfusionist Job Details : Work Monday through Friday from 7 : 00 AM to 4 : 00 PM (8-hour shifts) Arrive 30 minutes before scheduled surgery for equipment set-up Full-time position with 5 days per week schedule Maintain and operate cardiopulmonary pump, Cell Saver, autotransfuser and intra-aortic balloon pump during invasive cardiovascular procedures Operate life support equipment for patients undergoing open-heart surgery Set up and operate left and / or right heart bypass pumps Operate extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and artificial heart console systems Set up and operate Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumping system Demonstrate knowledge of heparin, protamine, anticoagulation-titration analysis systems Set up and operate Auto transfusion equipment for cardiovascular, orthopedic, and vascular procedures Assist in IABP insertion in OR, Cardiac Cath Lab, ICU and other areas Ensure heart-lung machines are cleaned and maintained per manufacturer recommendations Required : Completion of accredited perfusionist program Required : BLS certification (AHA only) Required : Texas state perfusionist licensure Preferred : 3 years of experience Preferred : Board eligible or certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion Open to new graduates with temp to perm option available Facility : This healthcare organization is part of a comprehensive health system that provides advanced cardiovascular services and surgical procedures.
