Charge Master Analyst
SUMMARY : Responsible for ensuring the Liberty Hospital charge description master is in compliance with hospital coding procedure and payer regulations, including CPT / HCPCS coding requirements. Also, assisting with improvements to revenue cycle initiatives by participating in the resolution of charge issues through the identification of root causes. Handles all charge tasks including implementation of charges for new departments annual CPT changes, rate analysis, and daily patient account charge issues. Serves as the charge expert for the hospital and clinics by maintaining proration tables for hospital charges. Conducts charge audits and identifies training / education opportunities. Works with leadership to evaluate vendor relationships involving charges and / or CPT / HCPCS codes. Create consistency and efficiency within outpatient claims processing in order to optimize reimbursement, reduce denials, ensure services provided are being appropriately charged. All other duties as assigned.
Required Education / Training : Associates degree in business, accounting, health information management, or related field upon hire or transfer effective 5 / 18 / 2022
Required Experience : Minimum three (3) years recent experience in one or more of the specific revenue cycle areas : Business Office, Billing, Coding, or Reimbursement; Intermediate Excel skills
Preferred Education / Training : Associate or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, accounting or related field
Preferred Experience : Experience with several of the following revenue cycle functions : Patient Accounting, Patient Registration, Medical Records, Denial and Appeal Management, Reimbursement methodologies, Decision Support, Project Management
Preferred Licensure / Certification / Registration : AAPC CPC Certification; AHIMA CCS Certification; RHIT; or LPN
