Job Title : Contract Management Specialist (Buyer) Intern Status : Intern Hourly Range : $19.60 - $25.50 Hourly rate commensurate with education and experience.
Job Summary
As a Contract Management Specialist Intern at BPMI, you will be responsible for performing contract functions which provide for budgeting, negotiation, placement, administration, and close out of contracts in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and Government specifications. The individual should possess the following attributes to complete the essential duties : questioning attitude, strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple competing priorities, complete work efforts in accordance with established schedules and team effectively with peers and management. This opportunity will begin Summer 2026, working a full-time schedule (40 hours / week). Please note, this is not a remote position. You will be expected to come into the office for this opportunity. Our internship will give you the opportunity to work in your field of study while simultaneously pursuing your bachelor's degree at an accredited college or university. These opportunities can enhance your academic training while teaching critical business skills and allowing you to learn about BPMI, the Navy, and the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program.

Minimum Job Requirements
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in business management / administration or equivalent education from an accredited college or university. Minimum of four full semesters completed prior to your internship (~60 credits). Requires a security clearance; however, all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
Preferred Job Requirements
Minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications desired. Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. Detail oriented self-starter. Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong teaming skills working with all levels of management, engineers, procurement professionals, supply chain professionals, onsite and remote Navy personnel. Desire to improve, revise, and change logistics management processes for greater business performance.
