Position Summary
As an Occupational Therapist (OT) , you will be at the heart of our mission to enhance patient care. Your role will involve providing direct rehab care to patients, following physician referrals, and adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards. Your expertise will empower our patients to regain their independence and elevate their quality of life.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
NBCOT certification upon hire (renewal optional thereafter)Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapy (BSOT or MSOT)Currently registered / licensed in the applicable state, maintaining an active license in good standing throughout employmentPreferred : One (1) year of experience in post-acute care or a related settingCPR certification upon hire or during orientation, with ongoing maintenance requiredSpecific Job Requirements
Engage in community health initiatives as appropriateProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and emailCollaborate with patients, families, and support departments to effectively plan for patient needsDemonstrate excellent body mechanics at all timesMake independent decisions when necessaryKnowledgeable of practices, procedures, and regulations governing post-acute care facilitiesImplement and interpret departmental programs, goals, and policiesMaintain professional relationships with all associates and vendorsUphold confidentiality of all proprietary informationAdhere to company policies, including harassment and compliance proceduresExhibit integrity and professionalism by following Life Care’s Code of Conduct and completing mandatory trainingEssential Functions
Follow and implement occupational treatment plans for patients (e.g., activities of daily living)Establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable, and functional goalsOversee and evaluate care provided by OTAs, Rehab Aides, and studentsDocument care appropriately and in a timely mannerUtilize therapy software accuratelyProvide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patientsAssist in the safe evacuation of patientsDemonstrate dependable and regular attendanceUtilize reasoning skills and good judgment in all situationsCommunicate effectively and work productively within an interdisciplinary teamEngage in physical activities such as sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and walking throughout working hoursRead, write, speak, and understand the English languageJoin us in making a difference!
