Overview
The purpose of this position is to locate, install, test, repair, monitor, and maintain electric system equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Completes routine inspections of electrical equipment and coordinates maintenance and repair.
- Operates software and programs to update maps and customer accounts, create, log, and close work orders, prepare reports, and dispatch crews.
- Monitors and interprets data and alarms and alerts field crew of system needs and emergencies.
- Maintains electric systems, facilities, and equipment in order to provide uninterrupted service to customers.
- Operates, transports, and sets up a variety of machinery in order to complete assigned work.
- Provides support and information to customers and notifies customers of work being performed on property.
- Assist with Electric Systems Technician II with Installation, maintenance, and programs various communication, control, metering, and relay equipment to gather and display customer information and field telemetry data.

Knowledge :
Electric transmission and distribution systems principles and practices;Installation of electric transmission and distribution systems and components;Materials or products used for electric systems;Test equipment and hand and power tools;Diesel generator repair and maintenance;Proper safety policies and procedures;Applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulationsLicensing and Certifications
Valid driver's license issued by state of residenceAbility to obtain First Aid / CPR Certification. Failure to obtain within 6 months of hire may result in termination.PLEASE NOTE : Applicants must meet the City criteria for an acceptable driving record.
