HVAC Commercial Technician
My client is a top notch HVAC Mechanical Contractor who is actively looking for a Commercial HVAC Technician who has excellent HVAC knowledge. Chiller knowledge, Cooling tower and roof top unit knowledge to the front of the line! HVAC Technician position is responsible for inspecting, testing, adjusting, and balancing heating, cooling, and ventilating systems in commercial and industrial buildings.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES Has exceptional operational understanding of HVAC systems including split systems, DX systems, glycol, controls, etc. Ability to train customers and contractors on use of equipment Performs standard Preventative Maintenance duties on all HVAC Equipment efficiently and without requiring supervision. Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, change out compressors, failed parts, etc. on all A/C equipment. Has knowledge and ability to proficiently solder, braze refrigerant lines, water lines, etc. Communicates daily with dispatcher reporting job by job information about equipment ID, estimated time to complete job, labor hours and parts used. Communicate and work together with sales associates and senior leveled associates with customer solutions. Diagnose network issues and work with a variety of vendors to achieve successful unit integration in building management systems (BMS). Has ability to read, interpret, utilize and train on schematics and control circuits. Manages larger Start-up and Commissioning projects. Directs team of installing contractors. Properly handles refrigerant, reclaimer, vacuum pump and other essential tools. Works in a safe manner. Follows industry standard safety practices including knowledge of MSDS, tool safety, equipment safety and ladder safety guidelines. Properly operates and maintains Company Vehicle. Adheres to all company policies Has experience with VRF systems
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Commercial HVAC Proficient working with HVAC equipment Proficient in Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel. Universal Refrigerant Certification Valid driver’s license Excellent customer service experience Available to perform scheduled on-call & overtime duties.

WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment is predominantly inside a customer’s data center. Associate will be exposed to loud noises above 85 decibels for possibly more than 8 hours. The work environment requires an on time arrival to customer appointment. Work successfully and accurately under the pressure of time constraints, a non-standard schedule, adverse weather conditions, customer demands and backlog constraints. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, schematics, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to discuss the system requirements and malfunctions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
