Responsibilities : Job Summary / Responsibilities : Supervises the month and year end closing, prepares account reconciliations and account analysis, accruals, and specialty areas of accounting including fund accounting and grants management for each of the QHS affiliates. Typical Physical Demands : Essential : sitting, seeing, hearing, speaking, repetitive arm / hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods Continuous : finger dexterity. Frequent : gripping of an object. Occasional : standing, walking, stooping / bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting body, lifting, pushing / pulling, carrying usual weight of 10 pounds up to 20 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level. Operates calculator, computer, facsimile, copier. Typical Working Conditions : Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions. Minimum Qualifications : Education / Certification and Licensure : Bachelor's degree in business administration, Accounting, Finance, related field; education requirement may be substituted with five (5) years experience in accounting functions. Master's degree in Business Administration or Certified Public Accountant preferred. Experience : In addition to education requirement, three (3) years of general accounting related work experience, preferably in the health care environment; or three (3) years accounting experience in a certified public accounting firm. Experience in a lead or supervisory role. Experience to demonstrate : knowledge of GAAP and the healthcare industry. Ability to identify and raise accounting and internal control issues. Familiarity with the system functionality and capabilities. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to organize, develop, manage and motivate a responsive General Accounting team.
