Reservations Manager
The Reservations Manager is responsible for maximizing rooms revenue through management of the hotel's room inventory, and for assisting in managing of the day-to-day activities and duties of the Reservations Department. Complex Position for Southernmost Beach Resort & The Marker Resort.
Responsibilities include : maximizing room revenue and occupancy by reviewing status daily; attending daily and weekly Revenue Strategy meetings; following the Revenue Strategy program according to SOP; reviewing arrivals report and daily flash report to ensure accuracy; being completely competent in all PMS functions used by Reservations; monitoring competitors for occupancy and rate, and recommending changes based on findings; being knowledgeable on property information and ensuring staff is trained to communicate hotel information to callers; complying with hotel policies on billing, routing, master accounts, A / R accounts and PM accounts; ensuring timely processing of travel agent checks; controlling suite inventory; maintaining rate integrity program; making weekly test calls according to hotel standards; being knowledgeable about the uses and functions of GDS FTCRS and OPERA; ensuring that Forecast is completed on a timely basis; maintaining a professional working relationship and promoting open lines of communication with managers, employees and other departments; assisting in preparation of monthly revenue and occupancy forecasting; knowing the hotel's rate quoting standards; completing weekly work schedule for reservation sales agents; processing / correcting daily payroll sheets; following and enforcing all hotel credit policies; understanding and following Revenue Strategy restrictions; being familiar with all corporate sponsored programs and ensuring staff is knowledgeable in understanding and implementing corporate programs; updating group information daily and maintaining and being familiar with future group blocks; communicating availability / close outs to wholesalers; monitoring all V.I.P.'s, special guests and requests; maintaining required pars of all Reservations and stationary supplies; reviewing Reservations log book and Guest Request log on a daily basis; maintaining an organized and comprehensive filing system with documentation of reservations, reports, restrictions, etc.
Qualifications include : a 4-year college degree or a 2-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience or at least two to three years of experience in a hotel or related field; previous management experience preferred; proficiency in Windows and company approved spreadsheets and word processing; flexible and long hours sometimes required; light work; maintaining a warm and friendly demeanor at all times; effective communication both verbally and written; effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns; ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines; attending all hotel required meetings and trainings; maintaining regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards; maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming; complying with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations; maximizing efforts towards productivity; ability to handle problems; ability to understand and apply complex information; ability to cross-train in other hotel related areas; maintaining confidentiality; ability to show initiative.
