Overall You Will...
Lead the UI development for Dia on Windows, focusing on seamless integration with the platform's unique features and conventions.
Shape the product by influencing technical trade-offs, architecture, and user experience to enhance usability on Windows.
Collaborate across teams, including Design, Infrastructure, and Data, to create a native Windows browser experience.
Address complex challenges related to performance optimization, memory management, and compatibility to deliver a reliable and secure Swift on Windows browser.
Within 1 Month You Will...
Complete onboarding with guidance from an experienced buddy.
Participate in presentations covering feedback processes, startup phases, our technical strategy, and more.
Familiarize yourself with the Chromium project, Swift, and our development environments across Mac and Windows.
Contribute initial bug fixes and features to our codebase.
Engage in pair programming with a significant portion of the engineering team.
Within 3 Months You Will...
Take ownership of developing key features of Dia on Windows.
Be the go-to person for addressing bugs and iterations in core areas of our application.
Participate in product discussions related to various aspects of Dia.
Engage in weekly engineering meetings focused on architecture, code review practices, and coding style.
Share regular feedback about using the browser in our team channels.
Join the on-call rotation to support the team in handling incidents.
Within 6 Months You Will...
Be trained in interviewing and participate in hiring for marketing our company.
Lead projects from their inception through to production launch.
Mentor newer engineers through pair programming to facilitate their onboarding to the codebase.
Qualifications
Extensive Windows UI Expertise : You have over 4 years of experience building and deploying high-quality Windows applications, with a solid grasp of the platform's APIs, frameworks (XAML, WPF, UWP, WinUI), and best practices.
Strong Technical Skills : You are proficient in C++ or similar languages, emphasizing UI design and desktop applications.
Attention to Detail : You focus on the finer points that contribute to a polished product, from precise UI elements to fluid animations.
User-Centric Mindset : You consider the end-user experience in your work and aim to create delightful and intuitive interactions.
Collaborative Approach : You are excited to share your Windows UI design expertise and learn from teammates.
Timezone : You have at least 4 hours of overlap with team members in the Eastern Time Zone.
Compensation And Benefits
We offer a flexible compensation model that allows employees to choose the cash-to-equity ratio that fits their needs. Every offer includes three options : a salary-optimized offer, an equity-optimized offer, and a balanced offer.
The annual salary for this role is $225,000-275,000 USD . Actual salary will vary based on experience and interview performance.
