Responsibilities :
The Banquet Houseperson is responsible for the set-up, refresh, tear down and maintenance of all meeting and event spaces
Ensures the correct and timely set up of all Banquet Event Order functions
Maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the banquet function space and storage areas to include the carpet, walls, walks, doors, windows, etc.
Ensures that all banquet areas are maintained in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Vacuums, sweeps, mops, polishes, and wipes areas clean before during and after events.
Breakdown after the completion of functions and ensures that all equipment and supplies are stored properly
Transport and store tables, chairs, and other equipment
The ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
Abide by all resort policies and safety rules
This role requires operating a golf cart as well as a manual work truck
This position has varying shifts including late nights, early mornings and weekends
Perform other duties as requested by management
Key Responsibilities :
Setup & Breakdown : Arrange tables, chairs, linens, decorations, and equipment based on event diagrams and client requests.
Maintenance & Cleanliness : Ensure banquet spaces are tidy and reset after events; assist in deep cleaning as needed.
Logistics Support : Transport supplies, furniture, and equipment between storage areas and event spaces.
Collaboration : Work closely with banquet servers, captains, and event planners to ensure smooth operations.
Inventory Management : Monitor and restock banquet supplies, such as linens, glassware, and décor.
Qualifications :
In compliance with California laws, Responsible Beverage Service and Food Handlers Certification are required
One to two years related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills required
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
Requires the ability to read write and speak the English language
Knowledge of and ability to adhere to safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly
Must be able to set up and break down equipment
Must be able to stand during entire shift
Must be able to work in an outdoor environment with varying temperatures
