JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Quality Manager is responsible for executing quality deliverables within their assigned Business Group. Key responsibilities include customer interface, craftsmanship, warranty performance, and managing AQE, QE, and QM staffing, training, and performance reviews. They also oversee supplier management and overall quality performance.
Main responsibilities
- Prepare monthly assessments of quality deliverables for each program within the Business Unit.
- Mitigate risks of missed quality deliverables through corrective action plans and glide paths.
- Review and approve quality deliverables.
- Participate in program reviews and phase exit reviews.
- Present issues and systemic improvements during monthly product reviews to prevent recurrence across plants.
- Serve as the primary contact for customer quality issues, product safety concerns, and key performance measures. Develop customer relationships within supplier quality.
- Communicate customer issues and Adient's performance to relevant internal teams, ensuring appropriate actions are taken to maintain or improve customer scorecards.
- Ensure implementation and maintenance of Adient Quality Systems and certification compliance, including IATF 16949.
- Complete commandment audits as per the yearly plan and incorporate lessons learned from PPSC / IRs.
- Drive continuous improvement in warranty performance by identifying issues, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Develop QE resource budgets, participate in hiring, and plan staffing needs.
- Create and execute development, performance, and succession plans for AQEs, QEs, and QMs.
- Participate in quoting to ensure quality resources and objectives are considered before business awards.
- Ensure timely completion of all deliverables and resolution of critical issues.
- Support AMS Level 3 production plans and develop plans to reach Level 5 aligned with continuous improvement initiatives.
Education
Bachelor's Degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.Training in quality disciplines such as IATF 16949, VDA, Continuous Improvement, TQM, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, and SPC.Leadership and people development experience.Job experience
Experience with advanced quality planning, including AIAG standards, FMEA, PPAP, dimensional layouts, gage / fixture design, SPC, and testing.Knowledge of statistical concepts, design of experiments, and problem-solving methodologies.Qualified as a Quality Systems auditor.Six Sigma certification is preferred.PRIMARY LOCATION
