Job descriptionAssociate's degree or technical certification in Electrical / Automation field. 5+ years of controls troubleshooting in manufacturing (packaging / material handling preferred). Proficiency in PLCs (Allen-Bradley / Siemens) and HMIs (FactoryTalk preferred). Knowledge of industrial networks, safety circuits, and control panels. Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. Experience with robotics, high-speed packaging, fiber processing, or dust control systems is preferred. Must be willing to travel to support new plants as needed.

About the Job : We are seeking a hands-on Controls Engineer to support daily operations, maintenance, and process improvements at our clients manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for someone experienced in controls troubleshooting, PLC / HMI programming, and automation upgrades who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities include :
- Troubleshoot and maintain controls, PLCs, sensors, VFDs, and processing / packaging equipment.
- Lead root cause analysis and preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Support system upgrades, PLC logic modifications, HMI development, and hardware retrofits.
- Document troubleshooting guides, schematics, and SOPs.
- Collaborate with operations and engineering to drive continuous improvement, safety, and compliance.
- Train operators and maintenance staff on updated systems.
Minimum Requirements :
Compensation : $115,000-$135,000
Job Status : Direct hire, onsite in Buffalo, NY
