Responsibilities Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of a hospital Patient caseload includes sepsis, respiratory distress / failure, post-surgical cases, overdose, suicide attempts, and DKA 20 total staffed beds with typical patient ratios of 1 : 2-3 Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts, various days of the week (18 : 45-07 : 15) Requires six weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period On-call required as per unit needs Floating required to all ICUs and occasionally to Med / Surg units as needed Uses Flotrack, Philips bedside monitors, Baxter IV pumps, and Epic EMR Navy scrubs required Deliver care for a critically ill adult patient population with a variety of complex conditions Must complete required online modules prior to start as part of orientation Holiday time-off is restricted during specified periods; RTO is not allowed during major holidays and specified blackout dates No blocked scheduling requests are permitted Return travelers to UCHealth must wait at least one year after a completed year-long assignment before reapplying Up to 10 days of RTO (requested time off) may be approved per contract Requirements Active Colorado RN license or compact RN license Current ACLS and BLS certifications Minimum 2 years of MICU or ICU nursing experience required Experience with Epic charting preferred First-time travelers are accepted for this position No prior permanent employment or internal travel application with UCHealth or its affiliates in the last two years Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-642033.
