Travel Nursing Job Details

Location : West Islip, NY 11795 (Long Island, New York healthcare jobs)

Setting : High-risk Labor & Delivery Unit

Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 12 / 15 / 2025 – End : 3 / 16 / 2026)

Shift : Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07 : 00 – 19 : 30), every other weekend required

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Pay : $2,360 – $2,420

Unit Details : 15 beds, 7 rooms, approximately 200 deliveries and 200 triages per month

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience in a hospital or clinical setting

Active New York State RN license (must be in hand at submission)

Required certifications : ACLS, BLS, NRP, and either AWHONN Intermediate or NCC EFM Certification

Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) charting systems

COVID-19 vaccination required (medical exemptions only)

Two recent supervisory clinical references required

L&D RN Responsibilities

Deliver expert nursing care to patients in a high-risk labor and delivery environment

Assist with high-risk deliveries and provide post-operative care for C-section patients

Triage obstetrical patients and perform sterile vaginal exams

Utilize and calibrate intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPC)

Maintain and manage central lines (CVC / PICC) and administer medications, including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy

Circulate for C-sections and adhere to isolation precautions and PPE protocols

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services

Participate in monthly orientation and complete all required training modules
