About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Challenges and Cyclist Engagement to lead the philanthropic efforts of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the Cycling Challenges and Breakaway Camps, with a primary focus on significantly increasing revenue to support the mission. This role involves setting and achieving ambitious annual revenue goals, leading a team, and overseeing the development and execution of fundraising, sponsorship, and marketing strategies. The VP will also be tasked with cultivating relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, celebrities, and corporate executives, to engage them in supporting the organization's cause. Key responsibilities for the Vice President include development and revenue management, marketing, operations, and leadership. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 15 years of experience in non-profit development, with a proven track record of managing high-performing teams and meeting financial goals. Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to work under pressure and deliver high-touch customer service. Experience in athletic event fundraising and a background in cycling are a plus. The role requires a dynamic individual who is exciting, motivating, and able to persuade people to commit to the organization's challenges and camps at multiple levels.
