Key Responsibilities

Review and verify incoming requests for medical information, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations

Abstract and compile relevant medical information from patient records, ensuring accuracy and adherence to request requirements

Identify and redact sensitive information in accordance with privacy guidelines and legal requirements

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Management preferred

2-3 years of experience in health information management, release of information, or medical record abstraction

Solid knowledge of HIPAA regulations and state privacy laws

Familiarity with medical terminology and health record documentation

Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and related software applications
