Location : Jacksonville, Illinois 62650

Facility : Critical Access, Magnet Hospital

Unit : Emergency Department (22 beds, 65 visits / day)

Shift : 3x12-Hour Nights (17 : 45 – 06 : 15)

Schedule : Every other weekend required

Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 24 / 2025 – End : 2 / 23 / 2026)

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1950 - $2000 per week

Charting System : Cerner

Scrub Color : Any solid color

Parking : Free with permit

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required at submission)

Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience (adult and pediatric preferred)

Current certifications : ACLS, BLS, PALS (TNCC preferred)

Prior travel nursing experience required

Community hospital experience required

Proficiency with Cerner charting system required

Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs

Must be able to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions accepted); COVID-19 vaccine not required

First-time travel nurses not accepted

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to diverse patient populations (adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, geriatrics)

Maintain a 1 : 4 nurse-to-patient ratio in a fast-paced 22-bed Emergency Department

Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and obtain 12-lead EKGs

Administer IV therapy, blood products, and emergency medications

Care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction / failure, ventilated patients, and those requiring procedural sedation

Manage acute neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and respiratory emergencies (including CVA, acute psychosis, drug overdose, seizures, chest tube management)

Implement isolation precautions and triage protocols

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and social services

Float to other units or affiliate hospitals as needed
