Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school in Belfast, ME is seeking a Special Education teacher for the 2025-2026 school year to serve elementary students from kindergarten through 8th grade. This contract role involves a 35-hour workweek during the academic year.
Key Responsibilities :
- Evaluate students skills, learning styles, and needs to establish educational goals and appropriate support.
- Develop, implement, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) outlining goals, services, and acmodations tailored to each student.
- Adapt or modify general education curriculum to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, families, and support staff to ensure student success.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary.
Qualifications and Experience :
Bachelors Degree in education or a related field.Valid Maine Special Education teaching credential.Experience working with K-8 students in a special education setting preferred.Strong munication and organizational skills.Ability to create inclusive classroom environments and adapt curriculum effectively.Location :
