Job Title : Director of Patient Access
Position Overview :
The Director of Patient Access is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organizations access-related services to ensure equitable, timely, and efficient entry to care. This role provides strategic leadership for patient access operations across Laboratory, Radiology, and Outpatient Services , with oversight of approximately 55 FTEs, 3 managers, and 1 supervisor . The Director will develop policies, improve workflows, monitor performance, and collaborate with stakeholders to remove barriers and enhance the patient experience.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement strategies to improve patient access and streamline service entry points.
- Lead and manage access teams, including front-line staff, managers, and a supervisor.
- Oversee daily operations for Lab, Radiology, and Outpatient access services.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify challenges and implement process improvements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align access initiatives with organizational goals and patient needs.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, organizational policies, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of equity, inclusion, accountability, and customer-centered service.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and patient satisfaction.
Qualifications :
Proven Director-level leadership experience in patient access or related healthcare operations.Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with Epic systems.Demonstrated expertise in access operations, workflows, and performance management.Ability to lead large teams, manage managers / supervisors, and promote professional development.Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements in healthcare access.Preferred Skills :
Experience overseeing multiple access points across Lab, Radiology, and Outpatient services.Demonstrated success in driving equity, inclusion, and patient-centered initiatives.Track record of process improvement and KPI-driven performance management.
