Registered Nurse – L&D

Unit Name : Labor and Delivery

Requirements :

Must have an active TN RN License or Compact RN License in good standing

Minimum 2 years of L&D experience

Certifications Required : AWHONN Intermediate (not advanced) or CEFM, ACLS, BLS, NRP

Advanced Skills Needed :

Care of the laboring patient

Care of the newborn immediately after delivery

Circulate and recover C-section patients

Procedures Performed on Unit :

Vaginal deliveries

C-sections

D&C

Cerclage

Epidural anesthesia

Tub labor

Unit Specifics : Number of Beds : 12

Patient Ratios : 1 : 2

Unit Staffing : RNs, unit secretary, OR techs

Documentation System : CPN, Meditech

Scheduling Requirements : 3 weekend shifts, 1 call shift for RNs, 2 call shifts for techs, 3 twelve-hour shifts per week

Floating Policy : Travelers float first

Patient Experience Expectations : Shared decision making with patients

Hospital Specifics :

Certifications for RNs : NRP, ACLS, BLS, must have AWHONN Intermediate (not advanced) or CEFM

Certifications for OR techs : FA certification

Dress Code (Required) :

Scrubs Ceil Blue, Navy Blue, or Gray (not provided by hospital)
