POSITION
SUMMARY / RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides
advanced clinical care in collaboration with attending
cardiologists while also serving as the primary clinical and
administrative leader for the cardiology APP team. The position
encompasses direct patient care, program development, staff
mentorship, quality improvement and operational oversight within
inpatient and outpatient cardiology services.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
A Registered Professional Nurse who is prepared for
advanced nursing practice by virtue of knowledge and skills
obtained through an accredited post basic or advanced educational
program of study acceptable to the Board of Nurse
Examiners. A Master’s degree in nursing is
required.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION
Must be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Texas
and credentialed by the State to practice as an Advanced Nurse
Practitioner. Board certification in area of
specialty is required.
Must maintain current AHA
BLS or higher in accordance with Medical-Dental Staff and UMA
bylaws. Providers practicing in acute care
environment must obtain AHA ACLS certification or advanced
specialty equivalent as defined by the UMA Credentials Committee
within 90 days of hire. Prescriptive authority is
required. Valid DEA number must be obtained within
90-days of hire.
