Position : Maintenance Mechanic
The Mechanic will perform preventative maintenance & emergency repairs to all packaging machinery, striving to improve equipment reliability & quality, as part of the maintenance team.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Fill out daily log reports, emergency breakdown reports, work orders, and communicate with incoming shifts.
- Perform machine set up and repair assembly and packaging equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance routines on all production equipment.
- Ability to work on low voltage and 120-480vac equipment, starters, motors, vfd's, sensors, controllers, photo-eyes, etc.
- Install, debug and stabilize plant equipment as required.
- Read schematics and blueprints to interpret, diagnose, and troubleshoot electrical and pneumatic issues to properly and safely repair.
- Perform repairs and upgrades of the machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Install electronic parts and hardware, using soldering equipment and hand tools
- Assist in Production / Maintenance related assignments as needed.
- Communicate regarding issues and problems solve with Production staff any quality and safety concerns.
- Perform electrical and distribution lock out / tag out method steady with customary safety protocol.
- Record maintenance data as directed by the Maintenance supervisor to monitor equipment performance, i.e. work orders
- Identify and report equipment concerns to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Participate in overtime assignments as required.
- Mechanic is required to supply their own hand tools and a lockable toolbox.
- Working in a general manufacturing environment.
- Perform various other similar and related duties as required by the Plant Manager.
Qualifications :
Experience in equipment maintenanceExperience with Pneumatics, Hydraulics and ElectricalAbility to withstand wet, cold (35-40F), humid and hot environments,Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, stand for extended hours,Must be able to climb ladders,Must be able to move heavy objects.Must have experience with the following machines : Tiromat packaging machines & Drake LoadersMeat processing facility knowledge. 5 plus years' experience preferred.PPE / Tools
