Phlebotomist - Claremore, OK

Schedule :  Monday-Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. - 4 : 30 p.m.

Setting :  Clinical / Laboratory

Scrub Color :  Hunter Green (preferred; no maroon or blue)

Position Summary

The Phlebotomist serves patients of all ages : infants, pediatrics, adults, and elderly, by identifying the most effective methods for specimen collection, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and performing required screening procedures. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect and process laboratory specimens following established procedures and safety standards.
  • Perform routine laboratory testing on samples as directed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and assist with charting in  Cerner .
  • Support laboratory operations, including filing, typing, and routine clerical duties.
  • Submit and receive specimens and reports from reference laboratories as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory workspace.
  • Monitor and restock supplies as needed.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and compliance reporting.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality, safety, and ethical standards in accordance with federal, tribal, and state regulations.
  • Practice only within the boundaries of documented education, training, and professional credentials.

Qualifications

  • Experience :  Minimum 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience.
  • Certification :  ASCP, AMT, or equivalent required.
  • BLS Certification :  Must hold current  AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) .
  • Systems Experience :   Cerner  charting experience required.
  • Specialized Skills :  Blood Bank and newborn screening specimen collection experience required.
  • Additional Information

  • Serves a diverse patient population including newborns, children, adults, and elderly patients.
  • Must adhere to facility and laboratory standards for professionalism, patient confidentiality, and data security.
